Friends,
I am honored by the trust that the people of Arkansas have bestowed in me as our next governor. Over the past 18 months, I’ve traveled to every part of our state, working with people of every background and every political stripe, to craft a positive vision to move Arkansas forward. In January, we will begin the long process of making that vision a reality.
In January, the son of a single mother, raised on the tips she made as a waitress, will be sworn in as governor. That doesn’t happen without a lot of help. I want to thank my family, the staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly for our campaign and most of all, the voters who have entrusted me to serve our state for the next four years.
Mr. Hutchinson ran a hard and strong campaign and he should be commended for his passion. Like in any campaign, there were tough exchanges and fierce debates between the candidates.
But now, we must put politics behind us as we look to the duties of leadership: economic development and job creation, affordable and accessible health care and excellence in education for every child.”
With my deepest gratitude, I thank the people of our state. I will never betray the trust they have placed in me.
Thank you,
Mike Beebe
